Agar agar is a seaweed derivative that forms a firm gel when mixed with hot water then cooled. Combined with malt extract or other nutrients, it creates a great medium for the growth of mushroom mycelium.
Add hot water, sterilize in pressure canner, then pour into a petri dish under sterile conditions.
This agar is food grade with a high gel strength of 900g/cm2.
